This BIOS update resolves issues with Microsoft® Windows® 
hanging on startup, resulting in a black screen. This normally 
happens after a motherboard replacement although other 
factors can occasionally cause this issue to occur. Safe 
mode shows the last file to load as mup.sys. 
 
This update must only be used on eMachine model 140 only 
(not 140 A DVD). Under no circumstances should this update 
be used on any other model.

Extracting the files

The BIOS patch is a .zip file.
Extract all of the files to a floppy disk.
 
Installation Instructions 
Turn off your computer. 
Insert the disk into your floppy disk drive. 
Turn on your computer and allow it to load. 
The update will apply itself automatically.
Once complete remove the disk and restart your computer.
