FCPGA with Powerleap
Neo370, does not work
10.02.01
Out
of curiosity and to finally settle the question once and
for all, I bought a Neo370 from Powerleap. I used a
FCPGA Celeron II 566mhz with it. Plugged the sucker in
and nothing. The eOne wouldn't turn on. Plugged the old
433 back in and it was fine. So I guess we now know for
sure that the motherboard does not support VRM8.2.
Unless Powerleap comes out with an adapter that also
adjusts the voltage we're outta luck.

Getting NIC to work
with XP
07.16.02
Well in one last effort
to try and get the network card working, I went to the
site below and downloaded oem514.zip. It contains
several folders of drivers for different versions of
windows.
http://www.network-drivers.com/drivers/22/22752.htm
I then uninstalled all previous attempts to install the
card and AnyPoint software by downloading and running
CleanDrv.exe from the site below.
http://apsupport.intel.com/knowbase/root/public/ina8090.htm?
SWStepDev=XP&SWStepNum=2
Note: I tried using the drivers from this site
(ap232.drv) but was unsuccessful. I then checked Device
Manager to make sure the card was removed, and
rebooted.
When the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' popped up I did the
following:
1. Install from list - next
2. Don't search - next
3. Have disk
4. Browse - go to the unzipped oem514 folder and choose
wint50\ndis50\net21x4.inf - open - ok
5. Choose the 'Intel 21145 based Phoneline/Ethernet
Controller' - next
6. Continue anyway
7. Finish - driver is installed!
Now the important part! I have DSL, so I assume this
will work for Cable, too.
1. Open Device Manager
2. Double click the adapter you just installed
3. Click Advanced Tab
4. Check the Connection Type setting. It defaults to
'Homerun'.
Change it to 'Auto Sense' or '10 Base T'.
5. Presto...the card linked up with my DSL modem and
from then on
everything worked perfect. I'm connecting up at 650k.
This was the first set of drivers that gave me a choice
to choose a phoneline/ethernet adapter.

I put the following
chip into mine and it works fine. I did this on
recommendation of another user who was successful as
well. 128 PC 133 will work but 256 PC 133 won't, for 256
stick to PC 100. There was another member who says it
doesn't work in his machine and not sure why, so make
sure you have a return or exchange policy from whom ever
you buy this from.
With the onboard 64 you get a total of 320.

[Addendum: Check to make sure it will boot. Many
replacement CD players will work in your machine for
regular CD usage, but will not boot and if you ever have
to use your restore CD, you’re out of luck because there
isn’t a currently known way to get the operating system
off the restore CD without booting it.] |
