MCP61PM-AM CPU Upgrade

I went ahead and ordered the Athlon X2 5600 cpu from
newegg. I popped out the original Athlon 64 3800 single
core and popped in the new dual core CPU with new
factory heat sink and fan and fired it up. Booted right
up, Windows welcome show it properly as an Athlon X2
5600 at 2.90 Ghz. Seems like a nice little boost.
Windows experience index in Vista went up to 5.0 from
4.3, the CPU was the weak link before, but now it is the
desktop graphics performance for Windows Aero. The new
CPU score went from a 4.3 to a 5.3. I aslo downloaded
Left4Dead on my son's steam account, and it ran just
fine, considering the less than powerful Geforce 8500 GT
video card with 256 mb of DDR-2 memory.
May have to look into upgrading that power supply and
video card next.. If this keeps up, we may have to buy
my wife a new Emachine and let one of our boys use this
one for a gaming rig. Very satisfying $65 upgrade.
