eModem Info/Drivers

If you have any of the missing info/drivers please send it to me and I'll make it available. Thanks, TD

If any one wants to help with this Modem section of the site let me know. I don't have a lot of info on the modems used in eMachines, but I'll gladly post what-ever info you guys have.

Since eMachine Inc. used what-ever modem they had on hand, you may have to pop the case cover and physically look at your modem to correctly identify it, but I think these drivers will cover most everything eMachine uses.

General Info

The following info is courtesy of BL of Computer Geeks Discount Outlet

They are made by MAC Systems of Korea.
http://www.mac.co.kr
http://www.macsysco.com/

In reference to the systems made in the 500MHz to 1GHZ range, these systems mainly use three different types of modems. One has a Rockwell (now called Conexant) chipset (either Rockwell or Conexant will be stamped on the main modem chip); one has a Lucent (now called Agere) chipset (either Lucent or Agere will be stamped on the main modem chip); and one has a PCTel chipset (either PCTel or PCT followed by numbers will be on the chipset). Some systems may have an AMR modem instead of a PCI modem (the AMR modem usually has the PCTel chipset, while the PCI modem will usually have either the Rockwell or Lucent chipset).

The following systems usually include Rockwell Chipset 56K V.90 based modems:
600is, 600id, 633id, 600ix, 600irx, 667ix, 633irx, eMonster 800, 700id, 766id, 667ir, 700, 700irs, 766, 566iz, 566ir, 700irx, eMonster 1000 and 633ids
Windows 98/Me/2000 need drivers (Windows XP uses built in drivers)

The following systems usually include Rockwell Chipset 56K V.92 based modems:
T1100
usually model MA560CI
Windows 98/Me/2000/XP all need drivers
Generic Conexant Drivers will work

The following systems usually include Lucent Chipset based modems:
eMonster 500, eMonster M600, eMonster M550, eMonster M550r and eMonster 700k
Drivers only need to be loaded for Windows 98 and 2000. Me and XP uses built in drivers
Generic Lucent Drivers will work

The following systems usually include PCTel Chipset based AMR modems:
800, 633is and 733i
usually model MR560LPM
Windows 98/Me/2000 need drivers (XP use built in drivers)
